SPEAKING THE TRUTH

WHAT IS TRUTH?

Truth is what is accurate and agrees with reality; Truth is first of all a quality that belongs to God, to Christ and to the Spirit. Good wants truth developed in us. We must seek it, speak it, walk in it, live by it and worship in it; only then will we be truly free.  Truth is the freedom for a Christian; John spoke it and so we must embrace it. “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free or set you free(John 8:32). Beloved, may I challenge you and at the same time encourage someone today; this is a well-known and memorable verse yet many of us do not know its revelation to apply especially in this time of pandemic and uncertainties. Each and every word there is its revelation and the action to be taken concerning its meaning per a dispensation of time. Habakkuk said when you hear a word run with it; though it might tarry but wait patiently for it for it will surely come and not lie (Haba. 2:2-3) There is no word that returns to the Father void without accomplishing and prosper in that which it was sent for. (Isa.55:11). We are in the dispensation of the latter days which according to the word shall be greater than the former. This was Jesus word to His disciples concerning John the Baptist “that since the days of John the Baptist, heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force” (Matt 11:12). The truth also defines the Christian revelation. God’s word is truth; so the testimony of Jesus and the gospel proclaimed by the apostles. Those who believe have come to acknowledgement of the truth and belong to the church, the pillar and foundation of the truth (1 Tim. 3: 14, 15), “These things I write to you though, I hope to come to you shortly; but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.”  The word of God as truth uncovers the realities of the miserable situation in which humanity finds itself apart from God and points the way out through the one who said He was “the way and the truth and the life” (John 4:16). The Bible urges us to let Jesus’ words guides us to the truth that sets us free and warns us to let nothing tear us away from the truth.

WHAT IS SPEAKING THE TRUTH THEN?

Children of the devil are characterized by falsehood, but God’s children by truth. The old characteristic of falsehood should once for all be laid aside by the believer, because truth must govern him in His relations. Falsehood takes many forms. It can be an outright effort to deceive by telling the untruth. It can take form of slightly twisting the truth to deceive. Anytime a man speaks one thing, and either knows or thinks something else, he (he here represents both man and woman) is speaking falsehood. This the believer should avoid. In the present case Apostle Paul condemns falsehood because of what it does to one’s relation to others in the same union with Christ; I Grace Favor as well join hands together with the Apostle Paul as we condemn falsehood; as a Christian one cannot serve two masters, being a child of God and the same time a devils agent by speaking lies!  Believers are members of one body and children of the truth. Lying is not just condemned for ethical reasons, but because all mutual duties of Christian’s is damaged when falsehood enters the relationship. That which damages our relationship with other Christians damages our relationship with Christ. Growing into Him who encompasses all truth brings about purity of mind from which honest words and truth flows. A man after God’s own heart asked? “Lord, who may abide in Your Tabernacle? And who may dwell in Your holy hill? The answers was or is,” He who walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart(Ps. 15:1, 2) My beloved brethren, God is always a God of order and His works are done in sequence and systematical way with diligence.  For one to abide in His Tabernacle and His Holy hill there must be one, uprightness; two, righteousness and three speaks the truth in once heart.  May prayer for someone today is that.” All may shun the spirit of falsehood and abide by the truth of God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ His Son. Amen.

WHAT IS TRUTH CHARACTERISTICS?

1.       GOD AS THE FATHER; (Ps. 35:5) “Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth” if we commit our spirits unto Him, truly we will be found worthy of His truth. This is the son of Jesse’s prayer. How about the son of Amoz? What did he has in store for us? (Isa. 65:16) The Spirit of the Lord speaks thus through prophet Isaiah,” So that he who blesses himself in the earth, shall bless himself in the God of truth; And he who swears in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hidden from God’s eyes.” Beloved whatever we do, let us delight ourselves in the truth of the Lord God.

2.       JESUS AS THE SON; (John 1: 14) And the word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” As the word became flesh and dwelt among us let our eyes be open so that we may beheld the glory and the truth attached to it. And Jesus ‘response to the doubting Thomas was, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6) No doubt Jesus, is the way the truth and the life and our Mediator to the Father.

3.       THE HOLY SPIRIT AS THE INTERCESSOR; (John 14: 17), “The absent Lord is present among His people and active in our lives by His Spirit. He promised to ask the Father of the bestowal of this gift upon the disciples, and that request was granted at Pentecost. And now the Spirit of truth is with us forever. His character and ministry are described as that of a helper, comforter, strengthener, pleader, and intercessor. He convicts of sin, leads to repentance, inclines us to trust in Christ, furthers our progress in godliness, fills us with power and joy, and raises us from the dust of death at the end. Inestimable are the blessings that the Spirit brings, yet the world is closed to Him, Pride and unbelief blind men, so that in their fatal foolishness they resist the Spirit instead of receiving Him. Sin dulls, distorts, and destroys the sensibilities of the sinner so that he has no appreciation of the things of God. Apostle Paul speaks to the Corinthians thus; (1 Cor. 2:14) “The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”  And to the Romans he states,” For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.  For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” He continues, (Rom. 14:17) that the kingdom of God is not “eating and drinking, but righteousness, and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”  To those who feel down at this time, please beloved allow the Holy Spirit to take charge in your hearts and truly you will find the peace that the world knows not! In (1 John 5:6), “This is He who came by water and blood- Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.”

HOW MUST BELIEVERS RELATE TO THE TRUTH?

1.       As believers, we must know the truth; it is a must and not an obligation whatsoever (being hard on someone) but believe me ye, it is the truth, it is the fact. Have come to realize, and through studying of the word, that when the Spirit of God dwells richly in a person or a vessel; there are things one cannot compromise with but to call a spoon a spoon and a spade a spade. Otherwise the truth will be nullified! (Ps. 51:6) “Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.” God our Savior desire’s all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Tim. 2:4).

2.       All believers must come to the knowledge of the truth; (2 Tim. 2:23-26) “But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. And a servant of the Lord MUST not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God will perhaps grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.” Paul describes himself to the epistle of Titus as, “A bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect and the acknowledgement of the truth which accords with godliness.” (Titus. 1:1).

3.       Must seek it; (Jer. 5:1) “RUN to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem;  see now and know; and seek in her open places if you can find a man, if there is anyone who execute judgment, who seeks the truth, and I will pardon her.”

4.       Must choose it; (Ps. 119:30) “I have chosen the way of truth, Your judgment I have laid before Me.”

5.       Must buy it; (Prov.23:23) “Buy the truth, and do not sell it, also wisdom and instruction and understanding”

6.       Must believe it; (2 Thess. 2:13) “But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and believe in the truth.”

7.       Must love it; (Zech.8:19) “Thus says the Lord of hosts; “The fast of the fourth month, the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventh, the fast of the tenth, shall be joy and gladness and cheerful feasts. For the house of Judah, therefore love truth and peace.”

8.       Must walk in it; (Ps. 26:3) “For your loving kindness is before my eyes, and I have walked in Your truth.” Also (3 John 3-5) “For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren and for the strangers.”

9.       Must live by it; (John 3:21) “But he who does the truth, must come to the light, lest his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God”; (1John 1:6) If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.”

10.   Must obey it; (Gal. 5:7) “You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?”

11.   Must worship in it; (John 4:23, 24) “But the hour is coming, and now is; when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit and those who worship Him, must worship in spirit and truth.”

12.   Must speak it; (Ps. 15:2) “He who walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart.”: (Zech. 8:16) “ These are the things you shall do; speak each man the truth to his neighbor, give judgment in your gates for truth, justice and peace.”(Eph. 4:25) “Therefore putting away lying, “let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.”

Abba Father, I thank You for your word; Let it not return to You void, but let it accomplish that which You have sent it for. In Jesus Mighty name I give Honor and Glory. Amen.

“Grace to You and Favor from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen and Amen and Amen.”
