THE WORD OF GOD!!!

 WHAT IS THE WORD OF GOD?

The word of God includes both speech and action. It is powerful, for by it God created all things and by it He still cares for His creation. In the Old Testament “the word of God” refers nearly four hundred times to what the prophets communicated to God’s people. In the New Testament it refers to the word that was preached by God’s servants. God’s word is fruitful, and it does not go forth without producing powerful results, His word is reliable and true. It has been written down as Scripture, God’s inspired Word. More important, it has come to us in human flesh, in Jesus Christ, the Word of life; whoever listens to Him receives eternal life.

THE WORD OF GOD SPOKE IN CREATION

See (Ps. 33:6-9) “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; He lays up the deep in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitant stand in awe of Him. For He spoke and it was done; He commanded and stood fast. Biblical revelation begins with a simple, strong and sublime affirmation. Instead of arguing about the existence of God, it declares that the very existence of the universe depends on the creative power of God. The heavens and the earth owe their creation and continuance to Him. We are therefore, living in a world that God has made. It all belongs to the Creator, and His absolute ownership requires our faithful stewardship of all things. See, (Gen 1:1) “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. By the word of God all the creation was created all that exist the seen and the unseen together; that which is in heaven, on earth and under the waters.”

THE WORD GOD SPOKE TO THE PROPHETS

(Duet 18:18-20) God said, “I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him, and it shall be that whoever will not hear My words which He speaks in My name, I will require of him. But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded Him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.” In (1Kgs 17: 2,8) says respectively to prophet Elijah, “Then the word of the Lord came to Him saying,” and to prophet Jeremiah , the word says, (Jer. 1:2,4, 11-13) “ to whom the word of the Lord came in the days of Josiah the son of Ammon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign. v4 The word of the Lord came to me saying: vs. 11-13 Moreover the word of the Lord came to me saying,” Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said,” I see a branch of an almond tree,” Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.” And the word of the Lord came to me the second time saying, “what do you see? And I said, “I see a boiling pot, and it is facing away from the north.” And to prophet Ezekiel the word says, (Eze. 6:1-3) Now the word of the Lord came to me saying,” Son of man set your face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them, and say, “O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God! Thus says the Lord God to the mountains, to the hills, to the ravines, and to the valleys: “Indeed I, even I, will bring a sword against you, and I will destroy your high places.

PREACHING THE WORD?

(John 1:1-2) In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, And the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God

JESUS AS THE WORD AND WISDOM OF GOD!

The existence of the Son of God does not begin with His birth at Bethlehem. Nor does He commence with that miraculous conception in the womb of the Virgin Mary. Before the wonder of incarnation, the eternal Christ shared with the Father and the Spirit in the work of creation. He has manifested His wisdom and might in creation, and now upholds the universe by the word of His power. See (Col.1:16, 17; Heb.1:2, 3). Apart from Him as the integrating factor, there is only chaos, collision, disintegration and death. Creation belongs to Him and we are but stewards of His resource. This truth has great implications for the development of a view of ecology that will be distinctively Christians when compared with humanist conservationism or the irresponsible ways of those who plunder and pollute the world. We must never forget that the earth is the Lord’s. (Ps.24:1) “The earth is the Lord’s and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein. In (Prov. 8:12-36) declares, “I, wisdom dwell with prudence, And find out knowledge and discretion. The fear of the Lord is to hate evil way and the perverse mouth I hate. Counsel is mine and sound wisdom; I understand, I have strength. By Me kings reign and rulers decree justice. By Me princes rule, and nobles, All judges of the earth. I love those who love Me, and those who seek Me diligently will find Me. Riches and honor are with me, Enduring riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yes than fine gold, And my revenue than choice silver. I traverse the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice, that I may cause those who Love me to inherit wealth. That I may fill their treasuries. The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way, Before His works of old. I have been established from everlasting, from the beginning, before there was ever an earth. When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there was no fountain abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth; while as yet He had not made the earth nor the fields, or the primal dust of the world. When He prepared the heavens, I was there, when He drew a circle on the face of the deep, when He established the clouds above, when He strengthened the fountain of the deep, when He assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters would not transgress His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth, then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; And I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him, rejoicing in His inhabited world, and My delight was with the sons of men. Now therefore listen to Me My children, for blessed are those who keep My ways. Hear instructions and be wise, and do not disdain it. Blessed is the man who listened to Me, watching daily at My gates, waiting at the posts of My doors. For whoever finds Me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord; But he who sins against Me wrongs His own soul; and those who hate Me love death.” This is the word of God that is enriched with wisdom from on high and the Son Jesus Christ as the word too.

NEW BIRTH THRUOGH THE WORD AND SPIRIT

The Spirit of God makes whole. See (Eze.37:1-14), THE hand of God came upon me and brought me out of the Spirit of the Lord, and set me out in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry, and He said to me, “Son of man can these bones live?” So I answered, O Lord God You know.” Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these dry bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones hear the word of the Lord! Thus says the Lord God to these dry bones; “Surely, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord”’” So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise ,and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over, but there was no breath in them. Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy son of man and say to the breath, “Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds O breath, and breath on these slain, that they may live”‘ “So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came unto them, and they lived and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army. Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off! Therefore prophesy and say to them, “Thus says the Lord God: “Behold O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O My people and brought you up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves O My people, and brought you up from your graves. I will put My Spirit in you and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know I, the Lord have spoken it and performed it.” Says the Lord.”

What more can I add!!! But just to say, Yes to You Lord and please Father Give us Thy understanding so that we may perceive what Thy Spirit says through Thy word O Lord, Amen.
