THE FALL OF BABEL
THE CONFUSED LANGUAGES
I loved a sermon by a servant of God Pastor David that in
Kenya, “There, seems to be confusion because of the many tribes that we have
and I do agree with him 100%. There is no
love as to each tribe wants to outdo the other, each tribe wants to be superior
than the other and especially during elections; each tribe wants to choose a
president from their own tribe. For heaven’s sake, how can a nation be led with
forty three presidents? There was a time
that Kenya was to be divided into two nations and I personally did support that
opinion for the sake of peace. Because there are those tribes who seemed to be “the them” and felt they were on the top of
others. Have been to quite a number of small nations that speak one, or two or
three languages the entire nation and for sure beloved, I had felt peace, love,
unity and tranquility in those nations; and the government supports its entire people
as one nation. As Jesus puts it (Mark 3:24) “If a kingdom is
divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.” I could
recall last election I wasn’t in Kenya but in another Island; with a colleague
of mine. And I remember we had vowed not
to come back to Kenya, why? Because of bad leadership, tribalism and too much
corruption in the nation. Can you imagine! I had vowed to fall in the Indian Ocean
to die there while this fellow of mine was to fall down from a story building
and die instead of coming back to Kenya! From “2014 to
2016; 2019 to 2021” have been in the Middle East; and if one meets other
fellows from our nation, no one dares want to come back to Kenya. There are
those who go through hell out side there, but they would rather cope with the circumstances
and the situation outside there instead of coming back to Kenya why? Because of
this many tribes which brings confusion and bad omen to our nation.
It is my prompt
prayer this time round that the Lord may open our inner eyes of understanding,
vote wisely for the king that the Lord has chosen for Himself for our nation
Kenya; and not vote based on our tribes, or the petty bribes that people are always
bought for such as sugar, unga, lessors and a hundred shillings. My fellow
Kenyans, we are too much expensive to be bought that cheaply. Let’s style up
and choose a king like David who will take this nation to the next level, bring
unity, love and peace to the entire parts of Kenya. There are places and people in Kenya that are
vandalized; they only survive by the grace of God and the leaders that they chose
to support and shepherd them they have been nowhere to be seen for the past
four years and now as we near election, it is the time they are showing up
blinding the eyes of the destitute by making road works at this time. What have
you been doing with the resources that are meant for the poor people? Shame on
you, hang on your shame and may the Lord Judge you and your generations after
you. And to my fellow Kenyans, wake up from slumber and especially the youths
and stop being used by the politicians. Let us not sell our birthrights for a Morsel
of soup. Did we not know that there is a consequence of any decision we may
made earlier? Ask Esau, he will tell us. The economy melt down that we
experience today, it is as a result of the choices we made yesterday. Both
Prophet Isaiah and Hosea warned though respectively (Isa. 5:13; Hos. 4:6) “Therefore my
people have gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge; their
honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst;” My
people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, because you have rejected knowledge,
I also will reject you for being priests for Me; Because you have forgotten the
law of your God, I also will forget your children.” Because we had rejected the
knowledge of God, He also has rejected us and that’s why many have perished in
our midst, and many suffer lack and want while several others, are languishing
in poverty. May the Lord help us!
THE TOWER
OF BABEL
Chapter eleven of Genesis begins in this manner (Gen. 11:1-9) “Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. And
it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in
the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there.”
When the people speak one language, they will dwell in unity
and very little of strife and contention will be experienced. Unlike different
languages, there will be contention as I belong to such and such tribe and such
individuals. (V.
3-4) then they said to one another, “Come, let
us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.”
They had bricks for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. And they
said, Come, let us built for ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the
heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the
face of the whole earth.” Because
of one language, unity and oneness, they were able to cooperate, make bricks
and mortars and began the construction of the tower. And could it be that they
spoke different languages and come from different tribes, then they would have
waited for their political leaders from their own tribes to give them a go
ahead. And the only place they missed here which made God to come down and see
what the son of men were doing is when
they lifted up themselves to build a tower that reached heaven and make a name for themselves.
(V. 5) “But the Lord
came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And
the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and
this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be held
from them. “ Even God Himself was perplexed with
the progress and the speed of the sons of men and He had to act first and
immediately before these men could rich Him through the tower they were
building. There is a phrase which says, “United we stand, divided we fall.”
Which means- if we work together, we will succeed but if we fight each other,
we will of course fail and fall (V. 7) “Come, Let Us go
down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one
another’s speech.” See, when people speak different languages;
there is confusion and misunderstanding as compared to when we all speak one
language. I have seen some wicked men and women in some places, they are transferred
to work in different place away from their own tribes and because they don’t belong
to that tribe; they don’t care whether they deliver or not but wait for their
wages at the end of the month. To such I
would liken them as Jesus puts it, “Hypocrites and
whitewashed tombs,” There are also a category of people who speak same
language and if it happens that a fellow brethren but from a different tribe joins
in their company, these fellows do not recognized the presence of a fellow and
speak either Swahili or English, but busy speaking in their own language, I
don’t really know what to liken with such! (V. 8) “So the Lord
scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they
ceased building the city.” When
the people speak one language, they leave in unity and as one man. But when
they speak different languages they need not to dwell together any more but to
be scattered abroad over the face of all the earth. What they had feared in
verse four did come to pass as they were scattered from each other and the
building ceased as they were not able to understand one another and being far
from each other as well. (V. 9) “Therefore its
name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the
earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of the
earth.”
PRAYER
It is my humble prayer that the Lord may have mercy and
remember our nation Kenya so that we may never in any way be confused elements
but people united together as one nation with a zeal to vote a king who will
bring this nation together as one people without regarding our tribes or where
we come from but speak one language and regard one another as brethren. As Your
Word declared in, (Ps 133:1-3) O, God, “That how good and how pleasant it is for
brethren to dwell together in unity! It
is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of
Aaron, running down the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon,
descending upon the mountains of Zion; and from there O Father, You command the
blessing- life forevermore.” Righteous
Father, we have been living as confused elements, and that’s why Thy blessing
has left us out O God. Everlasting Father, The I am Who I am, harken to the cry
of my heart today, and heal our nation Kenya O God, create in us a new spirit
and a new heart so that with Thy knowledge, wisdom and understanding our eyes
may be opened to vote only the king that You have ordained to transform the
nation Kenya and the people at large. I
take power and authority as I subdue, destroy, throw down, pull down and uproot
every spirit of tribalism, the spirit of corruption, the spirit of bloodshed of
the innocent blood, the spirit of kidnapping, theft and robbery and the spirit
of rigging during the election to come out of this nation; by fire, by thunder,
by lightening, by brimstone, by rain and by flood in the Mighty name of Jesus
Christ of Nazareth Amen. I plant and
build unity, love and peace that surpass all human understanding in the Mighty
name of Jesus to be experienced in every corner of the nation Amen. Sweet
Spirit of God; take over, take charge, take control and have Your way in our
nation Kenya Amen.
“Grace to you and Favor from God our Father and the Lord
Jesus Christ be with us all. Amen and Amen and Amen.”
