DEFINATION OF THE TRUTH
This is how I had defined truth on my post about, “SPEAKING THE TRUTH” and there is also the golden
rules of truth and one can find it on my posts as well about, “LISTEN ONLY TO THE TRUTH” Truth is what is
accurate and agrees with reality; Truth is first of all a quality that belongs
to God, to Christ and to the Spirit. God wants the truth developed in us. We
must seek it, speak it, walk in it, live by it and worship in it; only then
will we be truly free. Truth is the
freedom for a Christian; John spoke it and so we must embrace it. “And you shall
know the truth, and the truth shall set you free” (John 8:32). But
today we will be seeing how to turn away from the accurate words of God, or
turning away from the reality or the facts of a matter. The children of Israel
ceased listening to the truth from God’s servants the prophets but enticed and
surrounded themselves with the lying spirits from false prophets. And because
they believed in the lie, the lie that they did believe in did not set them
free but instead lead them to Babylon as captives. So in our case today, there are
those who have gone out today misinterpreting the word of God and manipulating the
sheep. But all in all beloved we shall all be held responsible and accountable
for our choices and actions here on earth. If one believes the truth, as John
says the truth which he or she believes in will set them free. And on the other
hand, he who believes the lie, the lie which they believe in shall by all means
lead them somewhere; into the pit of sorrows afflictions, depressions and
gnashing of teeth. John told us from his epistle that we test the spirits (1 John 4:1-2) “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the
spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out
into the world. By this you will know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses
that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God.” It is a free choice as Joshua told the
Israelites to choose whom they were to serve (Joshua 24:14-15).Now therefore
fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which
your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the
Lord! And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this
day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were
on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you
dwell. “But for me and my house we will serve the Lord.” I love this.
And this is what the
Spirit of the Most High God is saying to His servants, “It is a high time that
we style up and stop pleading with people to give their lives to Christ. But to
leave it upon them as a choice. Preach the word in season and out of season and
let the Holy Spirit do His work of conviction. We miss greatly in this area and
that’s why we see many turning back from the faith, from the truth and
backslides because they do not understand what it means giving their lives to
Christ in the first place. When I got born again on the 15th January 2005, I got the conviction of the Holy Spirit and I
have never looked back since then in spite of my aspiring desire and ambition
to become a catholic nun. During my high school holidays and after my ‘O’ level
education I spent my life in the convents. My decision was astonishment and a
blow to my family as well as friends. No one would figure it out after all I
had gone through, to the point of crossing the borders to Tororo Uganda, and
several places here in Kenya e.g. Meru, Kisi, Homabay, Kisumu, Kericho and
Nairobi which became as my home town moving up and down to every corner and to
every congregation until one day a friend told me that, “Could it be that the
feet gets finished because of moving up and down, yours would have finished by
a long time ago.” I inspired many to join the religious life and in fact I
have; I can say a daughter whom I introduced to the religious life and now
finally professed as “A nun with the sisters of the Holy Cross and currently in
Uganda. The decision I made by the conviction of the Holy Spirit has made me
stand firm till to- date. My point is this, if we plead with the people, they
may accept just to please someone, but when they are chocked by the thorns,
they will give up indefinite because who can bear the pain of the thorns while
it chocked? Listen now to the decision
of the people who were left by themselves to make the decision; the children of
Israel (V.16)
“So
the people answered and said, “Far be it from us that we should forsake the
Lord to serve other gods; for the Lord our God is He who brought us and our
fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the land of bondage, who did those
great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way that we went and
among all the people through whom we passed. And the Lord brought out from
before us all the people, including the Amorites who dwell in the land. We also
we will serve the Lord for He is our God.”
Beloved, as we can get it, it is not Joshua who answered for them, but
got conviction of the Holy Spirit who dwelt within them. I will not write all
the Scriptures but the people obeyed to serve the Lord, listen to His voice and
a covenant was made with the people that day and a large stone was put as a
witness to them. If we force the people, we will live with a register, wanting
to know the where about of some of the sheep. And if it is the Holy Spirit leading
and conviction, as servants of the Most High God we will leave a stress free
live with God’s rest all round about. (V. 31) “Israel served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all
the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had known all the works of the
Lord which He had done for Israel.”
HOW DO WE TURN AGAINST
THE TRUTH?
The abomination of the children of Israel had reached the
throne of God (Ezek.
9:9) “Then He said to me, “The iniquity of the
house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of bloodshed,
and the city full of perversity; for they say, The Lord has forsaken the land,
and the Lord does not see.” This
is extremely contradictory to the chosen Israel, God’s chosen people. The
abomination of the Israelites became exceedingly great just like the nations
God had removed before them. But why? The fathers and the elders ceased sitting
their children down and teaching them the ways of God and to obey the law and
observe them as they were taught by their parents. And that is the fulfillment
of History that is being experienced in our generation today. More of this on
my posts please, about, “HISTORY’S FULFILLMENT.” Children are born in urban and the
order of the day for them has becomes rob locks, tik-tok, games, laptops, iPod ,iPhone,
name them; and the parents has got no prompt time with their children and
that’s how the electronics has taken charge. The parents buy these electronics
for their kids while they make ends meet. But in the beginning it was not so! Men
use to work and provide for the family, while the women stayed at home taking
care of the homes and training the children. But now days a man meets a lady,
and the first question a man will ask is not, “Are
you born again?” No, they can cope with the situation, but the question
has become, “What do you do for a living?” Mark
you this is the man, the provider of the home asking a weaker vessel! Check
this posts please it will make your day, “IN TWO
REALMS!” And if the lady says No!
That becomes the end of the conversation; no more further question! And in case
the lady is working, the type of work also matters here. Oh Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, my hurt is torn into pierces! And to the children who are born in the
country side, they have become digital as well to the point that they don’t
want to associate with their grandparents as they are analog. How will this
generation learn ways and manner of living? Oh Lord God, I pray for Your leading
and Thy guidance.
At the end of the road of unbelief, of rejecting the truth
is the assertion that the truth is no truth at all, but that the opposite is
true. If we do not believe, eventually we not only convince ourselves that what
was given was untrue, but we believe as truth what we want to believe. God
heard His ancient people, who were guilty of gross iniquity; actually say what
never was true- that He neglected His own. They went even further and denied
His providence. This also can be true of modern man. We want to tell God that
black is white and white is black. You never cared for me, God! So I looked
elsewhere to believe in something. I’ll do what I please, because You aren’t
what You claim to be.” Such words to a loving and caring God, who did the
opposite of what these accusations claim, must hurt Him deeply. I now
understand why Ezekiel
at TelAbib, remained astonished seven days among the men there (Ezek. 3:15, 20, 21) and the regrettable
possibility which the Lord placed before him. “REMAINING RIGHTEOUS" on my blogs post,
“THE HEART OF GOD” also “THE SIN OF UNBELIEF
AGAIN” If God was hurt, prophets Jeremiah and Ezekiel mourned, who am I
not to feel a thing?
But our God is faithful who will establish us and guard us
from the evil one (2 Thess. 3:3).
“Grace to you and Favor from God our Father and the Lord
Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen and Amen and Amen.”
