BEGUILING FALSE PROPHECY

WHAT IS BEGUILING?

Beguiling is sort of a charming spirit that highly attract the attention of people to their downfall. It is a means of divination. Like in our generation of today people don’t like to pay the price to get the genuine things but consult these beguilers to belief in a false truth or a false manner of life or a false fate of life. Beguilers can also be known as the con artist that uses manipulating spirits to attract people to their acts, deceive and brain wash the mind of the people; but in the long run, there is regrets and gnashing of teeth. Cheap is indeed expensive and very costly. Most business men consult this beguilers in order boost their businesses while others use them to attract love and good life. But these are the spirits that just attract for a period of time and can never be reliable. The preacher warns (Prov. 23:5) “Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away like an eagle toward heaven.”  Wealth, riches and love that are received from these beguilers of course, they will fly far, far away indefinitely and leave one unprepared because they do not warn in advance. Failure to do according to their demands, it always costly leaving one in a worse situation if not dead. Apostle Paul in his epistle to Timothy he wrote (1 Tim. 6:17-19) “Command those who are rich in this present  age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God , who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves  a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.”

 WHAT IS FALSE PROPHECY?

False prophecy is the evil spirit which rises to oppose or resist the spirit of God. False prophecy is the spirits that misleads, misguides and deceive people as well. In the Bible there are cases where false prophets rise to deceive people from the truth that they had received from true prophets of God. The first best example is from the book of (1 Kings. 22:6) “Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets’ together about four hundred men, and said to them, “Shall I go against Ramoth Gilead to fight, or shall I refrain?” So they said, “Go up for the Lord will deliver it into the hand of the king.” These four hundred men were the false prophets of Baal, the prophets of Ahab and Jezebel.  And because Jehoshaphat the king of Judah feared God, though he was allies with Ahab the king of Israel, he never trusted their prophecy but asked for the true prophet of the Lord. From (V. 7) “And Jehoshaphat said, “Is there not still a prophet of the Lord here that we may inquire of him?” So the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is still one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may inquire of the Lord; but I hate him, because he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.”  Ahab indeed hates this true prophet of God that his wickedness did not allow him to regard him as the servant of God, but as a man. Because he believed and trusted his false prophets who prophesied doom to him. (V. 18-24) “Then Micaiah said, “Therefore hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing by, on His right hand and on His left. And the Lord said, “Who will persuade Ahab to go up, that he may fall at Ramoth Gilead? So one spoke in this manner, and another in that manner. Then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord, and said, “I will persuade him.’ The Lord said to him, ‘In what way?’ So he said, “I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And the Lord said, ‘You shall persuade him, and also prevail. Go out and do so. Therefore look! The Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours, and the Lord has declared disaster against you.”  Now Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did the spirit from the Lord go from me to speak to you?” And Micaiah said, “Indeed, you shall see on that day when you go into an inner chamber to hide!” These are two prophets with different spirit operating inside of them. And the devil with his deceptive motives is always on the fore front even to struck those who try to oppose him.  The prophesy had gone forth from two different companies; four hundred of Baal with the same lying spirit against one man, the true prophet of the Lord. Whose prophecy would you believe? (V. 37-38) “So the king died and was brought to Samaria. And they buried the king in Samaria. Then someone washed the chariot at a pool in Samaria, and the dogs licked up his blood while the harlots bathed, according to the word of the Lord which He had spoken (The reason why the dogs licked his blood, on my posts about, “THE COST OF DISOBEDIENCE”

WHERE DO WE FIND BEGUILING FALSE PROPHECY?

During the time of Ezekiel, there was too much abomination in the land of Judah and also in Chaldea where they were as captives (Ezek. 13:17-23) “Likewise, son of man , set your face against the face of the people , who prophesy out of their own heart; prophesy against them, and say, “thus says the Lord God: “Woe to the women who sew magic charms on their sleeves and make veils for the heads of the people of every height to hunt souls! Will you hunt the souls of My people, and keep yourselves alive? And will you profane Me among My people for handful of barley and for pieces of bread, killing people who should not die, and keeping people alive who should not live, by your lying to My people who listen to lies?” Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Behold I am against your magic charms by which you hunt souls there like birds. I will also tear off your veils and deliver My people out of your hand, and they shall no longer be as prey in your hand. Then you shall know that I am the Lord. “Because with lies you have made the heart of the righteous sad; and you have strengthened the hands of the wicked, so that he does not turn from his wicked way to save his life. Therefore you shall no longer envision futility nor practice divination; for I will deliver My people out of your hand, and you shall know that I am the Lord.” Here Ezekiel gives a picture of how heathenism had crept into the prophetic office and made it an instrument of falsehood. He speaks of women prophetesses, who, in their vanity spoke not from divine inspiration but from their own inspiration. Clothed with magic bands and veils, possibly imitating the mantles of the prophets, they practice some form of divination to give the impression they were prophetesses from God. Their lies threw suspicion on the pious but strengthened the hands of wicked men. Their false message produced a good feeling in those who were facing judgment. God’s name was profaned by their lies. Such support from lying prophetesses tended to bring life to the evil and endanger the righteous. Instead of always announcing good to people, the true prophet has to predict war, famine, death and judgment. These precede the message of life. It is better to follow the message of death to life from the true prophet than the path of life to death of the false. John warned in his epistle thus (1John 4:1) “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out in the world.”

GOD IS AGAINST BEGUILING FALSE PROPHECY

The word of the Lord came to Ezekiel saying,(Ezek. 13:1-3) “Son of man prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy out of their own heart, “hear the word of the Lord!’” Thus says the Lord God: “Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing! For a prophet to speak they must always be led by the spirit of God, otherwise, they will be speaking their own mind to deceive people which is contrary to the will of God.” God liken them like foxes in the desert in (Ezek. 13:4).They have envisioned futility and false divination, saying, “thus says the Lord!’ But the Lord has not sent them; yet they hope that the word may be confirmed. Have you not seen a futile vision, and have you not spoken false divination? You say the Lord says, ‘but I have not spoken.” Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Because you have spoken nonsense and envisioned lies, therefore I am indeed against you,” says the Lord God. My hands will be against the prophets who envisioned futility and who divine lies; they shall not be in the assembly of My people, nor be written in the record of the house of Israel, nor shall they enter into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am the Lord God” (V. 6-9).  These beguilers’ false prophets will be cut off completely from the land of Israel and from among God’s people forever.  At times the wrath of God might be too fierce  to cause a life as in the case with Pelatiah the son of Benaiah prince of the people who devise iniquity and give wicked counsel in the city and say, the time is not near to build houses; this city is the caldron, and they are the meat. The word of the Lord came therefore upon Ezekiel and he prophesied against them.  “Now it happened, while I was prophesying, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell on my face and cried with a loud voice, and said, “Ah, Lord God! Will You make a complete end of the remnant of Israel?” (Ezek. 11:1-13).

JESUS’S WARNIG AGAINST FALSE PROPHETS

As John tells us to test spirits, Jesus the Son of the Most High God warns us to be aware of such spirits (Matt. 7:15-18) “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.”  Jesus says that we will know them by their fruits, “Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.” Absolutely, accurate and precise to the point. I love calling a spoon a spoon and a spade a spade and not vise vasa. There is no day on earth that evil will produce good. Never on at all! There is no one who plants maize and expects to reap beans! How can it be?  Listen to this, (V.1 9-23) “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Analyze this beloved!

“Grace to you and Favor from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be with us all. Amen and Amen and Amen.”
